During my tenure in AMEU, I have grown a lot. I acquired the skills and knowledge that were not taught in lectures or textbooks. From small events such as AMEU Coffee Session to big events like the AMEU Economics Summit, they are all organized and planned by students like me and you. Being the Finance Director, you would expect one to only learn about computing data, preparing reports and so on but AMEU is a big family where we always lend a helping hand to other teams. You will get to learn much more beyond record keeping! From brainstorming ideas to organizing, planning and execution, you can get involved in the whole process depending on how much you are willing to contribute!​

To me, AMEU is the place where you can learn and grow everyday together with your fellow executives. During my term in AMEU, I have been encouraged by AMEU family to step out of my comfort zone to grow as a team. As the Deputy Director of the Corporate Relations Department, I learned more than just communication and networking skills, I also learned to be a better team player and being more organised. Joining AMEU Research pushes me to read more and to analyse the current issues more critically. I love working with like-minded undergraduates as we all strive to become the better of ourselves, learning new skills, handling projects and academics to the best that we can.

I always believe that the best way to grow as a person is to push myself out of the comfort zone. Essentially, AMEU provided me the chances to do it! As an Event Deputy Director, I was given opportunities to carry out several events. From the stage of planning until the end of the event, it was tiring but satisfying. The Corporate Relations team has taught me a lot about professionalism, not only in terms of sending emails to external parties but most importantly networking and presenting yourself well when you meet with influential and high profile personnel, and because of AMEU, I have had a lot of opportunities to network with these individuals.
