Dr Elizabeth Lee Fuh Yen
Dr Elizabeth Lee Fuh Yen has served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Sunway Education Group for 27 years since the year 1992. A veteran in private higher education provision, Dr Elizabeth also serves on National Higher Education Research Institute (IPPTN) and sits on the Board of Trustees of MERCY Malaysia. She read the Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Education at the University of Cambridge.
Dato Justin Leong Ming Loong
Dato’ Justin Leong Ming Loong is currently the Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of the Alpha Goal International Limited and was the Head of Strategic Investments of Genting Malaysia Berhad’s Group. He started his career at Goldman Sachs in London, where he was an Analyst in the Investment Banking Division and an Associate in the Equities Division. His main achievements were winning and constructing large-scale integrated resorts in Singapore, Manila, New York, Birmingham and Las Vegas. Besides, he holds a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Oxford University and was nominated a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2006.
Tan Sri Dr. Ramon Navaratnam
Tan Sri Dato’ Dr RAmon Navaratnam was educated at the University of Malaya in Singapore where he received his B.A. (Hons) in Economics. He received his Diploma in Public Administration from the Royal Institute of Public Administration in London in 1963. He obtained his M.P.A.(Econs) from Harvard (USA) in 1969 and an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from the Oxford Brookes University (UK) in 2000. Tan Sri Navaratnam joined the Malaysian Civil Service in 1959 and became the Deputy Secretary-General of the Treasury. He was promoted as the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Transport in 1986. He was Alternate Executive Director of the World Bank in Washington from 1970 to 1972. Tan Sri retired from Government in 1989 and became Chief Executive Officer of Bank Buruh (now Affin Bank) from 1989 to 1994. Tan Sri Navaratnam is currently the Chairman of the Centre for Public Policy Studies at the Asian Strategy & Leadership Institute, Corporate Advisor of the Sunway Group, Pro Chancellor of Sunway University and former Director of Monash University Malaysia.
Dato’ Dr. R Thillainathan
Dato’ Dr R. Thillainathan is a Board Member at the Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS). He is also a Non-Executive Independent Director at Genting Berhad and Public Investment Bank Berhad and has recently retired as the NEID of Allianz Malaysia Berhad. Dato’ Dr R. Thillainathan is also a Fellow of the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers. He has over ten years of experience in the banking industry and has been part of various national task forces, advisory panels and consultative councils. He was also previously the Executive Director of Genting Berhad, the President of the Malaysian Economic Association and a member of the Tax Review Panel of the Ministry of Finance. Dato’ Dr R. Thillainathan graduated with a BA in Economics from the University of Malaya and hold a Master and Doctorate of Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Lord Karan Bilimoria
Lord Karan Bilimoria is the Founder of Cobra Beer, Chairman of the Cobra Beer Partnership Limited, a Joint Venture with Molson Coors, and Chairman of Molson Coors Cobra India.
He is also the Founding Chairman of the UK India Business Council, Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London and founding member of the Prime Minister of India’s Global Advisory Council. He was also a former Senior Non-Executive Director of Tesco PLC and Chancellor of the University of West London. In July 2014, Lord Bilimoria was installed as the seventh Chancellor of the University of Birmingham, making him the first Indian-born Chancellor of a Russell Group University in Great Britain. Besides, he holds the role of President at the UK Council for International Students Affairs (UKCISA) and the Confederation of British Industry (CBI). Lord Bilimoria was qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young and graduated in law from the University of Cambridge. He is also an alumnus through executive education of the Cranfield School of Management, the London Business School and the Harvard Business School.
Tan Sri Sheriff Mohd Kassim
Tan Sri Dato’ Mohd Sheriff Mohd Kassim was the Managing Director of Khazanah Nasional Berhad and previously sat on the Boards of UEM Group Berhad, RHB Bank Berhad, Renong Berhad and SilTerra Malaysia Sdn Bhd. Prior to joining Khazanah Nasional Berhad, he served as the Secretary-General of Treasury, Ministry of Finance for 3 years. Tan Sri Dato’ Mohd Sheriff was also the Chairman of the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research and the President of the Malaysian Economic Association. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Malaya, a Diploma in Economic Development from Oxford University and a MA in Economics from Vanderbilt University, USA.
Dato’ Ong Eng Bin
Dato Ong Eng Bin serves as the Chief Executive Officer of OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad and has been with OCBC for more than 30 years. In 2000, Dato Ong was appointed Head of Corporate Banking & Large Corporates, before being promoted to Head of Business Banking in 2012, with responsibilities covering corporate and commercial, emerging business and transaction banking. Prior to joining OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad, he worked for two years in PriceWaterhouse.
Dato Ong served as the Chairman of Pac Lease Berhad. He is also a Director of Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad and a Council Member of the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers and the Association of Banks in Malaysia. He is also a Fellow of the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers. He serves on the Board of Governors of the Methodist Boys School Penang, where he had his early education. Dato Ong holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & Finance from the University of Manchester.
Tan Sri Dr. Lim Wee Chai
Tan Sri Dr. Lim Wee Chai is the Founder and Chairman of Top Glove Corporation Berhad, the world’s largest producer of rubber gloves, having founded it in 1991. Tan Sri Dr. Lim is a member of several organisations and is the Vice President of the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers, Honorary President of the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce and Honorary Advisor of the Klang Chinese Chamber of Commerce, a Director of Universiti Malaya and has held board positions in the Malaysian Rubber Glove Manufacturers’ Association, the Association of Malaysia Medical Industries, and the Malaysia Rubber Board. In 2019, Tan Sri was reappointed as the EPF Board Member by the Ministry of Finance. Tan Sri Dr. Lim Wee Chai has obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours in Physics from University Malaya. He was also conferred an Honorary Doctorate in Entrepreneurship by Management & Science University.
Mr. Goh Peng Ooi
Goh Peng Ooi is the Group Executive Chairman of the Silverlake group, which he founded in 1989. The group today has key offices around the globe, some listed on stock exchanges. With a core staff force of more than 3,000 located worldwide, the group supports hundreds of large customers located in approximately 50 countries.
Goh has twice won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award Malaysia, an award recognising entrepreneurial excellence – first in 2005, under the Technology Entrepreneur category; and the second in 2014 in the Master Technology Entrepreneur category. The World Chinese Economic Summit in 2015 presented a Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Information Technology to Goh; and more recently at the 2017 ASEAN Business Awards, Goh was conferred the prestigious Legacy Award. The Legacy Awards recognises ASEAN entrepreneurs that have create positive impact and inspiration within ASEAN communities.
Goh is a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia, an Industry Advisor of the Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering in Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, a Fellow of the ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology (AAET), a Member of the ASM Science and Technology and Industry Linkage Committee, an Adviser of the ACCCIM Science, Technology and Innovations Committee, and a Member of the Board of Governors of First City University College.
Dato’ Henry Sackville Barlow
Dato’ Henry Sackville Barlow has a rich amount of experience with over 35 years in the plantation industry. He serves as a Senior Independent Non-Executive Director of Sime Darby Plantation Sdn. Bhd., as well as the Chairman of New Britain Palm Oil Limited.
Dato’ Barlow has held various positions, such as Joint Managing Director of Highlands & Lowlands Berhad, Finance Director of Barlow Boustead Estates Agency Sdn. Bhd, Non-Executive Chairman of Majedie Investments PLC and Majedie Asset Management Limited. He served as an Independent Non-Executive Director of HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad, Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of Golden Hope Plantations Bhd and Independent Non-Executive Director of Guthrie Ropel Berhad.
Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Michael Yeoh Oon Kheng
Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Michael Yeoh Oon Kheng serves as the President of the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific. He previously held the position of Co-Founder and CEO of The Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute (ASLI), Malaysia’s foremost and one of Asia’s leading Think Tanks. He is also the Deputy Chairman of Economic Club of Kuala Lumpur and a Director of the British Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and General Committee member of the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Michael graduated in Economics from Monash University and obtained his Doctor of Laws (honoris causa) from the University of Nottingham. He also attended senior management programmes at Wharton School and Harvard Business School. He is the author of five books and has spoken at forums organized by the World Economic Forum, Confederation of Indian Industry, Centre for China and Globalization, the Asia Society, the China Development Institute, World Policy Conference and Oxford and Cambridge Universities.
Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Munir Abdul Majid
Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Mohd Munir Abdul Majid is the Chairman of Bank Muamalat Malaysian Berhad and the Chairman of the Veto Committee. He represents Malaysia in various ASEAN capacities, namely the 2015 Chairman of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council, the President of the ASEAN Business Club and the Chairman of CIMB ASEAN Research Institute. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a PhD in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences. He taught at the Department of International Relations in LSE and was a research analyst for Daiwa Europe NV in London. Dr Munir joined the New Straits Time Press (NST) as a leader writer and progressed to become the Group Editor. He was invited by the Government of Malaysia to establish and become the first and founding Executive Chairman of the Securities Commission. After leaving the Securities Commission, he served as Senior Independent Non-Executive Director of Telekom Malaysia Berhad and was Chairman of its mobile subsidiary Celcom (M) Berhad.
Dato’ Yvonne Chia
Datuk Yvonne Chia is a Non-Executive Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia and Independent Director of several listed companies. She is currently the CEO of Shell Refining Company in Malaysia and sits on the Nottingham Asia Advisory Board. Datuk Yvonne was the first woman in Malaysia to be the Chief Executive Officer of a bank, where she was appointed the CEO at Hong Leong Bank and RHB Banking Group. Datuk Yvonne was credited by Forbes Asia as one of the Top 50 Businesswomen in the Mix in 2013, and a two-time finalist in the CNBC Asia Business Award. In August 2014, she was also appointed the Honorary Professor by the University of Nottingham.
Datuk Sir SK Lingam
The Honourable Datuk (Sir) SK Lingam is an International corporate consultant. He is the founder and President of ASEAN UK Business Forum, a forum which was initiated 23 years ago by the then, their Excellencies, the Ambassadors and High Commissioners of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to the Court of St James’s. Further SK was the immediate former First Vice President of ASEAN – EU Business Network, based in Brussels. Datuk SK is also the founding member and first Chairman of Malaysian Link UK (MLUK), which forges Malaysia UK bilateral relations, as well as acts as a sounding board and a voice for the Malaysian Diaspora in the UK. He read Law at the University of London and did the Bar at the Inns of Court School of Law. He was awarded a Book Prize by the University of London for International Law and Affairs. In 2014, SK was acknowledged for his gallant services for Malaysia & ASEAN spanning over 20 years, by His Majesty, the King of Malaysia with an award of the title “Datuk”. He has given many public addresses in the UK, Europe, and ASEAN on political, socio-economic, and trade matters. He has also acted as Chairman and moderator in many International trade seminars, dialogue sessions, and conferences both in the UK, Europe, and ASEAN, and has appeared on BBC and Sky news.
Sir Mark-Moody Stuart
Sir Mark-Moody Stuart is the Chairman of the Foundation for the Global Compact and a Board Member of the Saudi Arabian Oil Co. Prior to his current roles, he was appointed as the Chairman of Anglo American PLC, Shell Transport & Trading Co. Besides, he was also the Vice-Chairman of the United Nations Global Compact and the Board Member of Accenture PLC and HSBC Holdings PLC. Sir Mark-Moody Stuart became an honorary fellow of St. John’s College, Cambridge in 2001.
Tan Sri Datuk Yong Poh Kon
Tan Sri Datuk Yong Poh Kon is the Chairman of Royal Selangor International Sdn. Bhd. He is a Past President of the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) and has served as the Co-Chairman of PEMUDAH from 2007 to 2013 and a member of the Economic Council. He is an Independent Non-Executive Director of TAHPS Group Bhd and RAM Holdings Bhd. Tan Sri Datuk Yong graduated from the University of Adelaide with First Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering.
Tan Sri Tan Koon Swan
Tan Sri Dr Tan Koon Swan was the fifth president of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) from November 1985 to September 1986. In 1970, he became the General Manager of Genting Highlands Berhad, helping Tan Sri Datuk Seri Dr Lim Goh Tong establish Genting Highlands Resort as a successful tourist destination. Furthermore, he headed the Koperatif Serbaguna Malaysia (KSM) and Multi-Purpose Holdings Berhad (MPHB), the corporate structure through which the MCA hoped to encourage Chinese participation in all areas of economic development. In the 1978 general election, he made his political debut and was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP), winning a parliamentary seat in Raub, Pahang. Tan Sri attended a senior management course at Harvard University.
Tan Sri Datuk Rebecca Fatima Sta Maria
Tan Sri Datuk Rebecca Fatima Sta Maria is the executive director of the APEC Secretariat based in Singapore, which serves as advisory body, implementation arm and custodian of institutional memory for the 21 member economies that make up the APEC forum. She served As the Secretary-General of the Malaysian Ministry of International Trade and Industry from December 2010 to July 2016, she oversaw the formulation of Malaysia’s international trade policies and positions. She often took the lead in their implementation as chief negotiator for bilateral and regional free trade agreements such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership.
Prof. Cheah Kok Hoong
Professor Cheah Kok Hoong is a highly accomplished individual with over 30 years of experience in business development, strategy, and technology across various industries. He is the Executive Chairman of SteerQuest Sdn Bhd, Chairman of Digital Vision Group, CEO of Cognitive Digital Sdn Bhd, Chairman of SQV International, and Nominee Director for a leading multinational corporation in data centres. As a key figure in Malaysia’s ICT sector, Professor Cheah advises PIKOM, chairs the Digital Global Business Services Council, and frequently speaks at regional events. He has held significant roles in venture capital and private equity, contributing to large-scale investments and guiding companies through rapid growth. Furthermore, he served as President at both the ESG Association of Malaysia and the ESG Board for Malaysia Chapter. Professor Cheah is also an adjunct professor at Sunway University and has received notable awards, including the CIO Excellence Award from PIKOM. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science & Physics from Campbell University and Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology.
