Economics of Happiness
What does happiness mean to you? Is it just a feeling after listening to a funny joke? Does defining ‘Happiness’ make us feel human or help us understand humanity’s most prevalent needs?
AMEU is proud to bring to you ‘Economics of Happiness’, our first academic event, co-hosting with Warwick Malaysian Students Association and also one that is meant to help you explore the ways in measuring your happiness from an economics perspective. We are honoured to invite our speaker from the University of Warwick, Professor Nattavudh (Nick) Powdthavee to give you an insight into the economics of happiness and well-being. Nick specialises in well-being (or happiness) economics and behavioural economics, and has published over 40 articles in these two areas. Nick is currently serving as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Behavioural and Experiment Economics and was the Chief and Founding Editor for the International Journal of Well-Being. He is the author of the popular science book, “The Happiness Equation: The Surprising Economics of our Most Valuable Asset”.
